So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30
KITG's origins began in January, 2001. Calvary Chapel of Joplin made application to the FCC for a low power, not for profit, radio station. A station with broadcast capabilities of only a 7 mile radius of the tower, to be constructed at the church site. We were awarded the license and Construction Permit in April of 2007, six years later. The FCC requires construction to begin 18 within months of the license issuance.
In January, 2008 we were notified of an opportunity to apply for a full power, not for profit, license in either Stotts City, MO. or Columbus, KS. After pray and consideration, the decision was made to proceed with the application to full power status. We applied for both sites, but were praying for the Stotts City location. This location had the largest coverage ares.
April 4, 2008, three months later, our prayers were answered. Calvary Chapel of Joplin was issued the license and Construction Permit to establish a full power, not for profit, radio station at the Stotts City tower location. The FCC required us to relinquish our low power license upon the approval of receiving a full power license.
KITG is an outreach of Calvary Chapel of Joplin. We have been blessed with a ministry tool to reach those in our community with sound doctrinal teaching, and a mix of classic, contemporary, and cutting edge Christian Music.
KITG 89.5 fm, a station you and our community can tune their dial and be assured of purity and integrity in all programming.
Your continued prayers and support are greatly appreciated. We pray God will be glorified in this, His endeavor.
